Expansion - Labradorite Wire Wrapped Earrings

Labradorite has always been one of my favorite stones because it holds a little secret.

At first glance, it can look dark, smoky, and understated. Then the light catches it at just the right angle and suddenly these incredible flashes of blue, green, and gold appear from somewhere within the stone. The color was there the entire time. You just needed to see it in a certain light.

I’ve always felt like labradorite reflects something really beautiful about being human. We all carry so much depth within us that isn’t immediately visible. Entire worlds of experiences, ideas, emotions, creativity, and pieces of ourselves that may only reveal themselves under certain circumstances, with certain people, or during certain chapters of our lives.

Just because something can’t always be seen doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

I named these earrings Expansion because so much of expanding our perception is learning to look at ourselves, other people, and the world from a different angle. Sometimes what we discover isn’t something new at all. It’s something that was quietly there the whole time, waiting for the right light.

That idea also connects deeply to why I chose this piece for this collection. My own experiences with microdosing and psychedelics felt like they opened an entirely new world for me and allowed me to explore parts of myself, consciousness, and spirituality from perspectives I hadn’t considered before.

I personally believe psychedelics could be one of the missing pieces in exploring the intersection between science and spirituality, which is why supporting research in this field is so meaningful to me.

When choosing the donation pieces, I intentionally selected some of the most unusual and “trippy” pieces I’ve created. With their winding silver-toned spirals and those hidden flashes of labradorite appearing and disappearing in the light, Expansion felt like it belonged here.
