Handmade Sunstone Statement Earrings
These are one of the first pairs of earrings I ever made and still one of my favorites.
I didn’t really plan them. Each piece seemed to fall into place exactly where it was supposed to go, and somehow the finished pattern felt more perfect than anything I could have planned beforehand.
That feeling is a huge part of why I love making jewelry. Sometimes I stop trying to decide what something should become and just follow where the materials seem to want to go.
Sunstone is traditionally associated with joy, abundance, warmth, and personal power, which makes these feel even more special to me.
They’re a little piece of evidence that sometimes the best things happen when you stop forcing the outcome. ☀️
✦ Made by Hand
Every piece from bykai is made entirely by hand, one at a time. Because I create intuitively rather than following a pattern, each piece is one of a kind and will not be recreated exactly.
Small variations, irregularities, and imperfections are part of the handmade process and are what make each piece uniquely yours.
Many of my pieces incorporate natural stones, shells, vintage or upcycled elements, and other materials that naturally vary in color, shape, texture, and pattern. I personally select and assemble every element before the finished piece makes its way to you.
There is only one of this piece. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. ♡
✦ Jewelry Care
Your jewelry is handmade and should be treated with a little extra love to help it last as long as possible.
Avoid wearing your jewelry while showering, swimming, sleeping, or exercising. Keep it away from perfumes, lotions, hairspray, household chemicals, and excessive moisture. When you’re not wearing it, store it somewhere cool and dry, preferably separately from other jewelry to prevent scratching or tangling.
Natural stones, ceramic, glass, shells, and beads can chip or break if dropped onto a hard surface, so handle them gently.
Because many pieces use mixed metals, natural materials, vintage, or upcycled components, some metals may naturally change or develop a patina over time. This is a normal part of the material aging and can often be minimized by keeping your jewelry clean and dry.
Treat it like the tiny piece of art that it is. ✧
